New Delhi: During the recent international delegation visit led by Indian MPs to the United States, a BJP MP reportedly faced embarrassment after meeting US President Donald Trump. The MP is also said to have been summoned by the party leadership in Delhi over this incident, reported website Parliamentarian quoting its sources.

The young BJP MP, “who was part of the group ended up in the spotlight—albeit for the wrong reasons—due to his excessive political ambition,” the report mentioned.

The report also stated that, “India’s attempt to bring global attention to the alleged threat from Pakistan sponsored terrorism has repeatedly entangled itself in new complications.”

The incident occurred during a delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, which included several Indian lawmakers.

According to the Parliamentarian among them was a young BJP MP who was reportedly irked by fellow delegate Milind Deora’s successful pre-arranged meeting with Donald Trump Jr. Unwilling to be left behind or upstaged, the BJP MP then made independent efforts to arrange a similar meeting with Trump Jr., but failed. Frustrated by the inability to secure such access, the MP is said to have declared among colleagues, “Now I will meet Donald Trump himself.”

He sought to outdo him (Milind Deora) by securing a meeting with Donald Trump himself. With the help of a long-time acquaintance based in the U.S. described in the report as a figure of “mysterious conduct,” the MP managed to gain access to Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s private estate in Florida.

Mar-a-Lago, a sprawling 126-room mansion turned exclusive private club, has previously hosted high-profile leaders including former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping. However, unlike those dignitaries, the young Indian MP’s introduction as someone “very close to the country’s head” reportedly failed to impress Trump. According to the Parliamentarian report, Trump’s reaction was far from warm. In keeping with his characteristic bluntness, Trump reportedly made offhand and dismissive remarks that left the MP visibly insulted.

The report describes the MP leaving the encounter deeply embarrassed, likening it to the Urdu expression, “Bade be-aabroo hokar tere kooche se hum nikle.”

Though the incident was never publicly acknowledged by the MP, word soon reached senior BJP leaders in Delhi. Quoting Sources Parliamentarian reported that the party leadership was furious and summoned the MP for a stern reprimand in front of three senior figures. At one stage, expulsion from the party was considered, but the MP was ultimately let off after offering sincere apologies and multiple pleas for forgiveness.

Several people have shared posts about this report on X. Supreme Court lawyer Sanjay Hegde wrote, "I'm surprised by what Trumpji said."

Rohini Anand, granddaughter of former Union Minister B. Shankaranand, posted, "These BJP MPs met Trump in America, got a ‘belt’ treatment from him, felt extremely embarrassed, and didn’t tell anyone. Can you guess who it is? Hint: Emergency exit expert."

A person named Jagadish Shetty, who identifies himself on Twitter as the National General Secretary of Virat Hindu Sangam, shared the Parliamentarian website's news on X. Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair also tweeted the same news, calling him "The young MP."

Another user, @mrs_roh08, posted, “This BJP MP met Trump in USA, got bèlt treatment from him, embarrassed so bad that he told nobody. Guess who? Hint: Emergency Exit expert,” hinting at the possible identity of the MP.

As of now, there has been no official statement from the Bharatiya Janata Party or any Member of Parliament regarding the incident.
