Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has reiterated in the State Assembly that the death of iconic Assamese singer Zubeen Garg was a murder, not an accident.
Sarma's statement was made on Tuesday during an adjournment motion moved by the opposition to discuss the death of Garg.
"Garg’s death was not culpable homicide or criminal conspiracy, but rather plain murder," NDTV quoted Sarma as saying.
Zubeen Garg had died while swimming in the sea in Singapore on September 19. A Special Investigation Team of the state police is probing into the circumstances of his death.
