Union government denies additional funds for MGNREGS in FY25: Reports

The Union Government has announced that it will not release additional funds for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) for the financial year 2025. According to a report by Financial Express, officials stated that the allocated outlay of ₹86,000 crore should be sufficient for the year, with an additional ₹7,500 crore in unspent funds from previous allocations expected to cover remaining expenses.

Rajasthan authorities issue demolition notices after arrest of Muslim men in sexual assault case

In the town of Vijay Nagar, Beawar district, Rajasthan, tensions are rising after the arrest of ten Muslim men accused of sexually assaulting and blackmailing five minor Hindu girls. The arrests, made on February 17, followed three First Information Reports (FIRs) filed on February 16 by the victims' families. The accused include seven adults and three minors, all aged between 19 and 21.
