Rise in govt school enrolment during Covid reversed, full recovery from learning loss: Report

The increase in government school enrolment seen during the COVID-19 pandemic seems to have reversed, with the proportion of children aged 6-14 years enrolled in government schools nearly back to the 2018 levels, according to the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) released on Tuesday.

 


NBDSA directs News18 India to delete segment suggesting Arvind Kejriwal’s guilt in excise case

The News Broadcasting Digital Standards Authority (NBDSA) has ordered News18 India to remove a segment of its broadcast following complaints about the show's handling of the excise case involving former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The segment, aired on March 28, 2024, during the show Goonj with Rubika Liyaquat, was deemed to have violated the Code of Ethics and Broadcasting Standards.

Passenger’s fake theft claim at Delhi Airport with communal colour debunked by CISF

A passenger’s baseless claim of theft at Delhi Airport with communal colour has been debunked by the CISF. Dr Tushar Mehta, claiming to be an orthopaedic surgeon, had alleged on X that his Apple Watch was stolen after a security check at Terminal 3 of Delhi Airport. He accused two individuals, identified as Shoaib and Md Saqib, of being involved in the alleged theft, with one of them reportedly working at the Helios store in the terminal.
