Delhi elections: Items worth over Rs 21 crore seized within week of MCC coming into force

The office of the Delhi chief electoral officer (CEO) informed on Monday that in the run-up to the Assembly polls in the capital, cash and other items like liquor, worth more than Rs 21 crore, have been seized by various departments within a week of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) coming into effect.

India summons Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh amid border fencing dispute

The Foreign Ministry of India today summoned Nural Islam, the Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh, to address growing tensions between New Delhi and Dhaka. This move follows a series of allegations from Bangladesh, claiming that India is attempting to construct fences at five specific points along the 4,156-kilometre Indo-Bangladesh border. These actions were reportedly in violation of an existing bilateral agreement on border activities.

A video was shared on social media with users claiming that PM Modi visited a school in Delhi built by former CM Arvind Kejriwal. The video showed the PM interacting with children in a classroom. However, the PTI Fact Check Desk in its investigation found the video dated back to 2023 from PM Modi’s Varanasi visit. The two-year-old-video was shared on social media as recent with a false claim.
