Kerala government withdraws UAPA charges against Kalamassery Blast accused Dominic Martin

The Kerala government has officially withdrawn Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) charges against Dominic Martin, the main accused in the Kalamassery blast at Samra Convention Centre last year. The explosion took place on October 29 during a Jehovah’s Witness prayer service, resulting in six fatalities and injuring 23 others. The injured were taken to Kalamassery Medical College and other hospitals for treatment.

The central government is set to initiate the long-delayed national census in 2025, with the process expected to extend until 2026, according to sources. This development follows a four-year postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and it will reportedly update the National Population Register (NPR) as part of the census cycle.
