Heatwave claims 165 lives across India: Odisha records another 67 fatalities

In the past 48 hours, Odisha has witnessed a significant rise in temperature, resulting in the tragic loss of 67 lives due to heatstroke, with Balangir district alone reporting 20 fatalities. Over the last 72 hours, the toll has reached 96, as reported by the state government, with confirmation of 15 deaths attributed to sunstroke while autopsy reports are awaited for the remaining 81 cases.

 


2 loco pilots injured as goods trains collide in Punjab

Two loco pilots were injured Sunday morning when a stationary goods train was hit from behind by another at the Sirhind railway station here, a Government Railway Police (GRP) official said.
