Mangaluru: In a bid to mitigate water problem in the City, 15 new borewells will be installed across Mangaluru. Out of 15 borewells permitted, work on six borewells has been completed and water yield from four of them is good, said district in-charge minister UT Khader.
Already a report has been sought from the expert geologists to install additional borewells. Based on the report, arrangements will be made to install the borewells, he added.
He was addressing press reporters at the D.K District Congress Office in the City on Sunday.
Tankers have been arranged and it can be used when the water supply gets suspended. The MCC has kept five water tankers on stand-by. In addition, MCC has opened up control room. People in need of water may call it on 0824-2220303/362, Minister UT Khader informed.

New Delhi (PTI): At least 10 flights were cancelled and more than 270 flights were delayed at the Delhi airport due to fog and low visibility conditions on Tuesday.
An official said 6 arrivals and 4 departures have been cancelled for the day.

Over 270 flights have been delayed and the average delay time for departures is 29 minutes, as per information available on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com.
"Visibility at the airport is improving; however, flight departures for certain destinations may experience delay," Delhi airport operator DIAL said in a post on X.
The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the national capital handles around 1,300 flight movements daily.
