Mangaluru: An eight-month-old girl child's dead body was found on the banks of the Netravati River near Bolara on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased child has been identified as Maunashree (8 months), daughter of Lakshmana Tenginahala and Roopa, natives of Koppal.
According to Lakshmana, Maunashree was found missing from the cradle at around 12: 15 pm. When the couple started searching for the baby, its dead body was found on the shores of River Netravati near Bolara at around 5 pm.
Murder suspected:
The police have suspected that the baby was strangled to death. Besides, injury marks were also found on various parts of the baby's body.
Mangaluru South (Pandeshwara) police have registered a case in this regard and launched the investigation.
