Moodabidri, November 15: The painting drawn using 15 different types of colours was the cynosure of all eyes as it attracted each and everyone. The painting of former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam drawn in salt was a real symbol of creativity and experimentation of the painter.

The second year Alva's Vignana Siri-2018 as part of the Alva's Nudisiri at the Dr. Abdul Kalam auditorium, the ground floor of which is filled with the colourful painting of Abdul Kalam. Alva's Engineering College mechanical division associate professor Ganesh Acharya M.R. drawn this painting. The painting which has the life of around 15 days was drawn in 10-14 hours using 120 kg salt and different colours of rangoli powder.

Ganesh who has been working as associate professor at the Alva's institution for the last six years, has involved in this kind of painting for the last 15 years. Born in artistes family, he was influenced by his father Rajacharya and continued it as a passion through various novel experiments. He is well-versed with creating drawings with thread, Clay models, Watercolor, Oil painting and Thanjavur style of paintings. He has exhibited his talent through his paintings in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Karnataka, Bahrain and Dubai.

Jaipur (PTI): Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot on Thursday expressed concern over the reported attacks and disruptions in prayer gatherings of the Christian community in different parts of the country, saying such incidents were "worrying and condemnable".

In a post on X, Gehlot said that while the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was visiting a church and giving a message of peace and harmony, news of attacks on members of the Christian community from various regions reflected a serious contradiction.

"Symbolic gestures would not be enough, and strict legal action was required against those spreading hatred," the senior Congress leader said.

He added that Indian culture has always upheld the spirit of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam", where every citizen has full freedom to practise their faith.

Gehlot urged the Centre and state governments to uphold the rule of law and ensure that no citizen is forced to celebrate their festival under fear.
