Puttur: Local court on Friday sent Karim Khan for one-day police custody for further interrogation and investigation. Karim Khan was arrested by police on Tuesday in Puttur Murder Case which took place on Monday.
Karim was arrested inside 24-hours of the crime. He had confessed to have committed crime on Monday night.
According to police, Karim had entered the house of 65-year old Koggu Saheb in Kuriya village in Puttur with the intention burglary. On being noticed by the house owner Koggu Sahen, Karim killed Koggu and his 16-year old granddaughter Shamiha Banu. He also tried to kill Koggu Saheb’s wife who sustained critical injuries and is being treated in hospital.
After arresting Karim, police recovered 30 grams of gold ornaments that he stole from the house.
Karim was on Friday produced before local court which sent him to one-day police custody for further investigation in the case.

Bengaluru: Lokayukta police have arrested a KAS officer and his driver for allegedly demanding and accepting a Rs 30 lakh bribe to pass a favourable order in a pending RRT case.
The accused have been identified as Nagaprashanth (KAS), serving as Special Assistant Commissioner (North) and Special Land Acquisition Officer-1, KIADB, and Kumar, a driver associated with his office, Deccan Herald reported.
Based on a complaint by Ravi Kumar, a resident of Attur in Yelahanka, Lokayukta team laid a trap.
According to investigators, the accused had demanded Rs 30 lakh, of which Rs 15 lakh was allegedly collected earlier by the driver on the officer’s instructions.
On Wednesday, the driver was caught red-handed while accepting the remaining Rs 15 lakh, leading to the arrest of both him and the officer.
Both accused have been taken into custody, and further investigation is underway.
