Ananth Kumar Hegde is unfit to become even GP member: MB Patil
Mangaluru, Jan 28: Home Minister MB Patil said that Union Minister Ananth Kumar Hegde who has become the Lok Sabha Member and the Union Minister with the help of Constitutional right, was unfit to become even a gram panchayat member.
Speaking to reporters after holding a meeting of higher officers of the police department at the City Police Commissioner’s office here on Monday, the Home Minister said that Ananth Kumar Hegde issuing derogatory statements was not a new phenomenon. Whenever the election approaches, he used to issue such statements. Ananth Kumar Hegde who had said that he was there to change the Constitution, had forgotten that he had become the Lok Sabha Member and the Union Minister with the help of the same Constitution given by Dr. BR Ambedkar, he said.

There was a notation that Mangaluru was communal riots-hit city. But due to the continuous efforts of the police officers, the city has been returning to its earlier grandeur and becoming beautiful. He has directed the police officers to keep a special vigil on drug peddling which has been taking toll of youth in the city, he said.

Trump says suspect was armed with multiple weapons at WH correspondents' dinner
Washington (PTI): President Donald Trump is addressing reporters at the White House after he and other top leaders of the United States were evacuated from an annual dinner of White House correspondents on Saturday night after a shooting incident outside the ballroom.
Trump said the suspect was armed with multiple weapons before stopped by Secret Service. One officer was shot, but he was protected by a bulletproof vest.
“He was shot from very close distance with a very powerful gun, and the vest did the job,” Trump said.
