Mangaluru: First Additional District and Sessions Judge Sharada B. on Friday granted anticipatory bail to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat in a case related to alleged provocative speech at a cow shelter in Konaje police station limits.
On a complaint filed by flying squad officials of the Election Commission of Mangaluru Assembly Constituency, the Konaje police registered a case against Mr. Bhat for allegedly making an inflammatory speech at Amurthadhara Go Shala in Kairangala on April 6.
He was booked under Section 153 (A) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 125 of the Representation of the People Act 1951.
Mr. Bhat filed a petition before the District and Sessions Court on April 13 under Section 439 of the Criminal Procedure Code.

Latur (PTI): A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by an 18-year-old man in Latur, leading to the arrest of the main accused and owners of two cafes where the crime occurred on December 4, police said on Saturday.
Police traced the girl within hours of registering the complaint. The accused, identified as Rihan Gulab Shaikh, was arrested based on the girl's complaint. Two others are owners of two cafes where the crime occurred, police said.
Police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), POCSO Act, and the Prevention of Atrocities Act, an official said.
