Bantwala: Woman died in bus accident
Bantwala, Dec 3: A woman died on the spot when a private bus knocked her down at Guddeangadi near Panemangaluru in the taluk on Monday night.
The deceased has been identified as Ruksana (26), wife of Attaullah of Bogadi near Melkar.
She, along with her husband and two children came for shopping and while standing on the roadside to cross the road, a private bus hit the woman killing her on the spot. Her husband and two children escaped unhurt as they crossed the road already. It is said that negligent and over speed of the bus is the reason for the accident. Melkar traffic SI Manjula and staff visited the spot and registered a case.

Rs 1 cr cash found at liquor den in Pune, 3 persons detained
Pune (PTI): Pune police on Thursday seized Rs 1 crore cash after a raid on a liquor den in Kondhwa, an official said.
Liquor worth Rs 2 lakh was also seized, he added.
He said three persons, identified as Amar Kaur alias Mudrikaur Dadasingh Juni, Dildar Singh Dada Singh Juni, Devashri Juni Singh, have been detained in this connection.
"The raid was carried out as part of prohibitory action. The Rs 1 crore cash seized was in Rs 100, Rs 200 and Rs 500 denominations. Further probe is underway," the official said.
