Kundapur: A round of cleaning the beach at Kodi in the taluk was held on Sunday, as the 23rd event of the 'Clean Beach & Green Kodi' project started by the Bearys Group of Institutions at Kodi during the World Green Building Week 2021.

The organizers also held an event on the occasion in honour of ISRO for the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3.

The beach cleaning event was inaugurated by Syed Beary, Chairman and Managing Trustee of Bearys Educational institutions, with Coastal Security Police (CSP) officials; Forest Department officials in Kundapur; Lions Club, Kundapur; Town Municipality of Kundapur and the locals participating in it. Addressing the gathering, Syed Beary said that participation in such noble events as cleaning the environment was superior to offering prayers to the Almighty in religious centres like temples, churches and mosques. He advised students to take inspiration from the success of the Chandrayaan-3 to reach great heights in the future and also asked teachers to provide adequate support to their students.

CSP Superintendent of Police Abdul Ahad reminisced the words of former President of India APJ Abdul Kalam on what a dream is. "A dream is not what we see in sleep, but that which does not let us sleep. Youngsters, especially students, should understand and always keep this in mind," he said.

The teachers and students of the Bearys Seaside Public School prepared a model of the Chandrayaan-3 launcher. They also formed a human chain showing 'ISRO' and sang patriotic songs, paying tribute to the national institution.

Bearys Group of Institutions President KM Abdul Rehaman, member of Board of Trustees Dr. Asif, Kundapur Town Municipality Chief Officer Manjunath and staff members, CSP Inspector Nanjappa and staff members, Forest Department Range Forest Officer Kiran Babu and staff members, Lions Club Kundapur President Naveen and members, Koteshwara Gram Panchayat president, development officer and members, heads of various departments of the Bearys Group of Institutions, teaching and non-teaching staff, students, advisory board members and School Development Committee members were present on the occasion.
