Mangalore: Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT), Mangalore, in association with the IEEE Bangalore Section and IEEE Mangalore Subsection, will host the Faculty Conclave – 2025 on September 20 at the institute’s International Seminar Hall.
The conclave will be inaugurated by Dr. Chandrakanta Kumar, Chair of IEEE Bangalore Section and Project Director at ISRO. He is expected to speak on the role of faculty in fostering innovation, promoting research, and preparing students for the demands of a rapidly changing technological environment. Drawing from his experience at ISRO, he is also likely to encourage faculty to strive for excellence in both teaching and research.
The event will be attended by several academicians and IEEE leaders, including Dr. S. V. Sathyanarayana, Dean (R&D), JNNCE and Chair of IEEE Mangalore Subsection; Dr. Chengappa M. R., Vice Chair, TC, IEEE Bangalore and ORAN Specialist; Dr. Parameshachari B. D., Vice Chair, MDC, IEEE Bangalore Section and HOD of ECE at NMIT; Dr. Arun Balodi, Professor, DSU and Senior Member of IEEE Bangalore; Mr. Subramanya Navada, Secretary, IEEE Bangalore Section and Associate at JPMorgan Chase; and Dr. S. I. Manjur Basha, Principal, Bearys Institute of Technology.
Sessions during the conclave will focus on innovative teaching practices, industry-academia partnerships, designing future-ready curricula, and the importance of faculty development initiatives. Speakers are also expected to stress interdisciplinary collaboration and share perspectives on emerging areas such as communications and space technologies.

New Delhi (PTI): Bill Gates will not deliver keynote address at the India AI Impact Summit, Gates Foundation said on Thursday.
In a post on X, Gates Foundation said, "The Gates Foundation will be represented by Ankur Vora, President of Africa and India Offices, who will speak later today at the Summit".
The post said: "After careful consideration, and to ensure the focus remains on the AI Summit's key priorities, Mr. Gates will not be delivering his keynote address."
The Gates Foundation further said it remains fully committed to its work in India to advance shared health and development goals.
