Belthangady: Police investigation on the death of the 15-year-old boy Sumanth, who had died recently in an unnatural manner while on the way to the temple, has been intensified as the post-mortem examination has revealed that Sumanth was murdered and suffered three severe blows on his head.

Sumanth had gone missing early Wednesday morning and his body was found in a pond near his house in Sambolya in Odilnala village.

Preliminary information from the report shows that the youngster was hit with a weapon like a sword. The boy is suspected to have fallen into the pond in a semi-conscious state and later died as the water filled into his lungs, the report has said.
