Udupi: A team from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has arrived in Udupi on Tuesday to initiate an investigation into the case involving the unauthorized filming of a video of a student at Netra Jyothi Paramedical College within the college's washroom premises.
Led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Anjumala Nayak, the CID team commenced its inquiry by gathering comprehensive information regarding the incident. They consulted Udupi District Superintendent of Police Hakay Akshay Machhindra and the former investigator of the case, Belliyappa, to better understand the situation and the progress of the initial investigation.
The upcoming course of action for the CID investigative unit involves visiting Netra Jyothi Paramedical College. During this visit, they intend to question not only the accused students directly involved in the incident but also the college management and the victim who was the subject of the illicit recording. Additionally, the Superintendent of Police from the CID is anticipated to arrive in Udupi on Tuesday to oversee and facilitate the investigation.

Gangtok (PTI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday launched development projects worth over Rs 4,000 crore in Sikkim while attending the closing ceremony of the state's 50 years of statehood celebrations.
The projects span a wide range of sectors such as infrastructure, connectivity, healthcare, education, power, urban development, environment, tourism and agriculture, the officials said.
These projects are aimed at accelerating holistic and inclusive development in Sikkim.
The PM's visit marks an important milestone in the golden jubilee year of Sikkim's statehood and reflects the government's "continued commitment to the rapid and sustainable development of the Himalayan state", the officials said.
