Bengaluru: The Congress party has raised serious questions about the BJP's silence regarding the alleged repeated rape of a Dalit girl by members of the Sangh Parivar in Vitla, Dakshina Kannada district.
Taking to its official Twitter handle, the Karnataka Congress asked, "Are you showing indifference because the victim is a Dalit girl? Has anyone stopped Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje from demanding justice now, for Hindu girls?"
Drawing attention to the recent Udupi college video incident and drawing a comparison to the Vitla incident, the Congress posed a pointed question, "The BJP leaders have been unnecessarily magnifying a minor incident in Udupi but are turning a blind eye to an incident of rape of a Dalit girl in the coastal region by a member of the Sangh Parivar. Is the Dalit girl not a Hindu? Does the BJP permit, give leeway to its associates to commit crimes?"
