Demands completion of the National Highway and bridge works
Mangaluru: Minister UT Khader on Monday flagged off a protest march that is being taken out by the D.K District Congress Committee, Mangaluru South and Ullal Block Congress to demand the completion of the National Highway and bridge works.
"Speaking at the occasion, Khader said that this was a sacrifice of Congress activists for the people. The MP, who could not construct a bridge between Thokkottu and Pumpwell over the past nine years, should look at the PWD roads in the rural areas of the district," he said.
Former ministers Ramanath Rai, Abhayachandra Jain, former legislator JR Lobo, DCC president and MLC Harish Kumar, party leaders Ibrahim Kodijal, Kanachur Monu, KK Shahul Hameed, Santosh Shetty Asaigoli, Prashanth Kajava, Mamata Gatti and others participated.

Trump says suspect was armed with multiple weapons at WH correspondents' dinner
Washington (PTI): President Donald Trump is addressing reporters at the White House after he and other top leaders of the United States were evacuated from an annual dinner of White House correspondents on Saturday night after a shooting incident outside the ballroom.
Trump said the suspect was armed with multiple weapons before stopped by Secret Service. One officer was shot, but he was protected by a bulletproof vest.
“He was shot from very close distance with a very powerful gun, and the vest did the job,” Trump said.
