Konaje: The eighth annual graduation day of Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT) and 1st graduation day of Bearys Enviro-Architecture Design School (BEADS) ceremony was held on Sunday at the Bearys Knowledge Campus, here in Mangaluru.
Prof. Valerian Rodrigues, Professor of JNU Delhi and Dr. Deepika Shetty, Director of Manipal School of Architecture and Planning , were present as the Chief Guests and guest of honor of the event respectively.
In his address to the students, Prof. Valerian Rodrigues spoke about his experience as the member of court of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and referred to PM Modi's recent statement terming the university as 'Mini India', Rodrigues nodded in agreement with PM Modi.
He also urged students to continue imagining and explore in their professional careers.
He further lauded the efforts of Syed Mohamed Beary for his continued efforts in providing quality and ethical education to all classes of the society.
Dr. Deepika Shetty also addressed the students and shared her life experiences. She stressed students to become responsible first and successful professionals later.
Ganesh Poojary, Vice President of Lodha Group, an alumni of Bearys School Kodi, Kundapur, who was recently featured in Forbes Top 100 People Managers of the country, delivered online motivational lecture during the event.
Poojary asked students to follow their goals and to learn from their failures adding that it ultimately leads to success in Corporate world. Poojary also shared a six-parameter-based concept and success mantra to excel in corporate industry.
He thanked Syed Mohamed Beary while recalling his early days in Bearys School wherein he asserted that they were trained for life and not just for exams by Syed Mohamed Beary.
The event was presided over by Syed Mohamed Beary, the Chairman of Bearys Academy of Learning.
In his presidential address, Syed Mohamed Beary advised students to work on acquiring three Ps in their life that stand for - Passion, Perseverance and purpose and added that it will lead them to success in their professional lives.
He also asked the students be truthful, trustworthy and to empathise . He then stressed the students to be humble and loving towards their parents and to always have an emotional connect with them.
Dr. Manjur Basha, Principal of BIT welcomed the guests and audience to the event, while Arch. Ashok Mendonca, Principal of BEADS presented vote of thanks.
Dr. Aziz Mustafa, Director, BIT Polytechnic administered oath to the graduating students.

Mumbai (PTI): Police have arrested a man and seized over 500 grams of heroin worth Rs 2.54 crore in the illicit market from him in Mumbai, officials said on Friday.
The police's Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) made the drug seizure in Santacruz in the western suburbs. The operation was conducted by the Kandivali unit of the ANC on Thursday as part of a special crackdown against drug trafficking in the area, they said.
Acting on specific inputs, an ANC team conducted a raid in Santacruz (East) and intercepted a man. During a search, the team recovered 508 grams of high-grade heroin from his possession, an official said.
The seized contraband, a highly addictive, opioid drug derived from morphine, is estimated to be worth Rs 2.54 crore in the international market, he informed.
Following the seizure, a case was registered against the man under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and he was formally placed under arrest in the early hours of Friday.
The police are currently investigating the source of the drug and trying to identify the intended recipients of the consignment, he said.
