Mangaluru: The Communist Party of India (CPI) has expressed condolocences over the death of senior leader and former MP Comrade Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy. He passed away in Hyderabad on August 22 at 10:20 p.m.
Sudhakar Reddy, who served as the General Secretary of the CPI, was known for his role in strengthening and expanding the party in Andhra Pradesh. Honouring his wishes, his mortal remains will be handed over to Gandhi Medical College, while his eyes have been donated to the LV Prasad Eye Institute.
The CPI Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district committees, along with the AITUC (Dakshina Kannada & Udupi), have condoled his passing.
CPI District Secretary B. Shekhar and AITUC district Secretary Seetharam Beringe issued a release in this regard.

Latur (PTI): A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by an 18-year-old man in Latur, leading to the arrest of the main accused and owners of two cafes where the crime occurred on December 4, police said on Saturday.
Police traced the girl within hours of registering the complaint. The accused, identified as Rihan Gulab Shaikh, was arrested based on the girl's complaint. Two others are owners of two cafes where the crime occurred, police said.
Police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), POCSO Act, and the Prevention of Atrocities Act, an official said.
