Belthangady: The man who recently made sensational claims of having buried multiple dead bodies in Dharmasthala has now recorded his official statement before the Belthangady court. According to sources, he appeared before the judge and provided a detailed deposition that reportedly lasted around 1 hour and 20 minutes.
Following his statement, the court handed him over to the Belthangady Police for further legal procedures. He was taken to the police station where necessary formalities are currently underway.
It has also been reported that the court has permitted police officials to carry out further interrogation of the man. However, official confirmation and more details on the next steps are yet to be released.
Meanwhile, a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has reached the Belthangady police station and is in the process of collecting relevant information and evidence.
The lawyers of the complainant issued a media note stating that the Court had granted cover and protection under the Witness Protection Scheme, 2018.

Ranchi (PTI): Four minors were detained for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl at a birthday party in Jharkhand’s Ranchi, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place on March 31 within the Namkum police station limits. An FIR in this regard was lodged on April 16 based on the girl’s statement, they said.
“All five, including the victim, were friends, and the girl had gone to attend the birthday party of one of those detained. At the party, the accused consumed alcohol and allegedly raped her,” said Ramnarayan Singh, the officer in-charge of Namkum police station.
“The four, aged between 15 and 17 years, have been detained and the medical examination of the girl is underway,” Singh said.
Further investigation is underway.
