SIT team yet to return from forest
Beltangadi: A new development has emerged in the ongoing search for bodies near the Netravathi bathing ghat in Dharmasthala. Today, the key complainant led the SIT team to a new location, where suspicions have arisen about the discovery of human remains.
Officials have not come forward with any clarification on the matter. Reports suggest that instead of carrying out the operation at the previously identified spot, the team shifted their search to this new location, where some skeletal remains are suspected to have been found. The SIT team, which entered the forest at around 11:30 A.M., has not yet emerged even after four hours.
Four members of the armed team proceeded deep into the forest, further fueling suspicions. It has also been noted that they carried two sacks of salt with them.

Minor girl kidnapped and raped; main accused and two cafe owners held
Latur (PTI): A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by an 18-year-old man in Latur, leading to the arrest of the main accused and owners of two cafes where the crime occurred on December 4, police said on Saturday.
Police traced the girl within hours of registering the complaint. The accused, identified as Rihan Gulab Shaikh, was arrested based on the girl's complaint. Two others are owners of two cafes where the crime occurred, police said.
Police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), POCSO Act, and the Prevention of Atrocities Act, an official said.
