Mangaluru: An interactive faculty development session was organised at Bearys Institute of Technology, Bearys Knowledge Campus, on December 30, 2025, at the International Seminar Hall. The session was conducted by Anees Kutty, a veteran academician and visionary education leader with a distinguished career spanning more than three decades.
Kutty, through institutions such as Anees Defence Career Institute, Aneespedia Education (Dubai), and Kutty’s Academy Pvt. Ltd., has been actively engaged in mentoring, defence coaching, career counselling, teacher training, and building collaborative educational ecosystems across India and abroad. His work also extends to CSR initiatives, scholarships, mentorship programmes, and employability-driven education models.
During the session, he addressed faculty members on the evolving responsibilities of educators as mentors, role models, and career architects. The discussion was interactive, with faculty members sharing classroom experiences and engaging in reflective dialogue. Emphasis was laid on outcome-based education, student-centric mentoring, and nurturing resilience, curiosity, and ethical grounding among learners.
The session was hosted by Dr. Sandeep Nambiar, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Faculty members appreciated the session for its relevance, depth, and practical applicability in academic mentoring.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President DK Shivakumar has passed an order suspending Member of the Legislative Council Abdul Jabbar from the primary membership of the party.
Shivakumar, who is also Deputy Chief Minister, has stated in his order that the MLC is to be suspended with immediate effect.
Jabbar is said to have been suspended for his alleged anti-party activities during the by-election to the Davanagere South Assembly constituency.
