Udupi: Actress and member of the National Commission for Women (NCW), Khushbu Sundar, arrived in Udupi on Wednesday evening to investigate the alleged incident of a girl being filmed by other female students in the washroom of a paramedical college in the city.

Upon her arrival, Khushbu Sundar stated that her first step would be to meet with the police and gather all the necessary details regarding the incident. She also expressed her intention to hold discussions with the college management and students to better understand the situation and what exactly transpired.

Taking to her official Twitter account, she further addressed the ongoing investigations and emphasized the need to stop the spread of fake news and rumors related to the incident. She urged people to refrain from making baseless claims and jumping to conclusions without verified information.

The incident in question involves the alleged filming of a girl inside a college washroom by fellow female students. The matter has gained attention and sparked discussions, prompting NCW member to visit Udupi to inquire into the situation.

Hathras (UP) (PTI): The blood-soaked body of an elderly man was found inside his house in Paharpur village here on Tuesday morning, police said.

The deceased, Jagdish Prasad Sharma, 75, who lived alone, had gone to sleep in his house on Monday night, officials said.

On Tuesday morning, his blood-soaked body was lying on a cot, with marks on his head and body indicating blows from a sharp-edged weapon, they said, adding that the police suspect murder.

Police and forensic teams reached the spot upon receiving information and sent the body for a post-mortem, they said.

Additional Superintendent of Police Ramanand Kushwaha said that Sharma, a retired Health Department employee, had been living alone since his wife's death during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He owned around 20-25 bighas of land and was also engaged in money lending, the officer said.
