Mangaluru: In the background of heavy rains in Dakshina Kannada district, including Mangaluru city, the degree and pre-university colleges have announced a holiday on June 30, Thursday. 

The D.K District Commissioner Dr. Rajendra has reportedly issued an order regarding the holiday.

“The schools in the jurisdiction of the Mangaluru city corporation, where the children have already arrived, must take all precautionary measures and continue their activities. As for the children from distant areas who have been unable to come to school due to inconvenience, they have been given a holiday. The Education Department officials must maintain strict caution at schools in their respective regions”, the D.K District Commissioner notified. 

If the heavy rains persists till Friday morning, decision will be taken about declaring holidays after considering the circumstances, DC Dr. Rajendra informed.

Lucknow, Apr 19: Chennai Super Kings rode on a controlled fifty by Ravindra Jadeja to reach a strong 176 for six against Lucknow Super Giants in their Indian Premier League match here on Friday.

LSG made one change as New Zealand pacer Matt Henry replaced his West Indian counterpart Shamar Joseph.
