Mangaluru: Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT) and BIT Polytechnic inaugurated World Green Building Week 2025 on 9th September 2025 at the BIT campus.
The program began with a welcome address by Dr. Purushothama C. T ., Coordinator of WGBW-2025, who shared insights on the importance of the event and its objectives. Dr. S. I. Manjur Basha , Principal of BIT, highlighted how the BIT campus provides a healthier and more sustainable living environment compared to the urban setting of Mangalore city.
Prof. Prithviraj , Director of BIT Polytechnic, motivated students to actively participate in all the activities planned during the week. The Chief Guest, Dr. Palakshappa, HoD of Civil Engineering, PA College of Engineering, delivered an inspiring talk on “Green Buildings, Smart Living”, emphasizing the role of sustainable architecture in modern society.
Principals of sister institutions, Heads of various departments, faculty, and students of BIT, BIT Polytechnic, and BEADS graced the occasion.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Badruddin , Co-coordinator of WGBW-2025, while Prof. Chittaranjan of BIT Polytechnic skillfully conducted the program as the Master of Ceremony.

Ahmedabad (PTI): Shubman Gill led from the front with a classy 86 as Gujarat Titans defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by five wickets in an Indian Premier League match here on Friday.
Earlier, KKR all-rounder Cameron Green produced a fighting 79 off 55 balls to lift his side to 180 all out. In reply, Gill anchored the chase with a composed 86 off 50 deliveries as GT crossed the line in 19.4 overs.
The win marked GT's third successive victory after opening with two losses, while KKR's search for their first win of the season continues.
