Mangaluru: Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT), Mangaluru, in association with the IEEE BIT Student Branch, successfully organized an Interactive Session on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Philosophy on December 22, 2025, at 9:30 AM in the International Seminar Hall.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Aamir Basha.

This was followed by the Presidential Address by Dr. S. I. Manjur Basha, Campus Director, Bearys Institutes group of Institutes Innoli.

In his address, he emphasized the importance of aligning teaching–learning processes with measurable outcomes to meet accreditation standards and industry expectations.

Dr. Kamalakannan, Principal, BIT, speaking at the event underlined the role of OBE in fostering student-centric learning, continuous improvement, and holistic development of engineering graduates.

The technical session was delivered by Dr. Sandeep R, Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, SDM Institute of Technology, Ujire, Dakshina Kannada.

He provided an insightful overview of the philosophy, implementation strategies, and best practices of Outcome-Based Education, with practical examples relevant to engineering programs.

Dr. Abdullah Gubbi, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering BIT, delivered the vote of thanks.

New Delhi (PTI): Ramzan fasts will begin on Thursday in India as the crescent moon marking the start of the fasting month was sighted in various parts of the country on Wednesday.

After the sighting of the moon, the holy month begins and for the next 30 days, Muslims fast from dawn to dusk.

Shahi Imam of Chandni Chowk's Fatehpuri mosque Maulana Mufti Mukarram Ahmed announced that the crescent moon was sighted and the month of fasting will start from February 19.

Naib Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Shaban Bukhari also declared that the moon was sighted.

During this month, a special prayer called Taraweeh are offered in mosques in the evening. In this prayer, the entire Quran is recited and it continues till the sighting of the Eid moon.

Mufti Mukarram has appealed to the Muslim community to "pray as much as possible for the well-being of the 140 crore people of the country".
