Mangaluru: Ivory Inn, a new luxury air-conditioned dormitory facility offering affordable accommodation, was inaugurated on Monday at Ivory Enclave in the Attavar area of the city. The event began with a dua by Mohammed Kunhi, Khateeb of Masjid-ul-Huda and manager of Shanti Prakashan, Mangaluru.
The facility aims to cater to students, professionals, and travellers seeking budget-friendly yet clean and well-maintained stays. It offers daily, weekly, and monthly plans, with features such as furnished beds, daily housekeeping, high-speed Wi-Fi, CCTV surveillance, lift access, essential kits, and car parking.
Speaking at the event, Vaslane ward corporator Naveen D’Souza said the venture meets the accommodation standards expected in a smart city like Mangaluru. He wished the owners success in their initiative.
Mohammed Kunhi described the concept as unique and timely, noting that visitors to the city often have to book costly hotel rooms just to freshen up. He said the dormitory model would be a convenient alternative for such travellers.
Owners Rizwan Pandeshwar, Ashraf and Noushad Metro, announced that in addition to regular stay plans, they are introducing a “freshen-up” option for ₹200, allowing guests to check in, refresh within two hours, and check out. The daily tariff for a 24-hour stay will be ₹500.
The launch event was attended by Niyaz AK, Chairman of AK Group of Companies; Haneef PS, Partner of Apple Mart; K. Hasainar, Chairman of Swadesh Group; Adil Parvez, President of HIF India; Mohiddin Usman; UK Bava; Nawazuddin; Sajid AK; SM Farooq, Director of SM Group of Companies; and architect Nisar, Chairman of Shepherd International Academy.
