Karnataka: Government order schools to windup examinations as state reports first Corona Virus case
Bengaluru: As Karnataka reported first case of Corona Virus, State Government has initiated several precautionary measures to cap the spread of deadly virus. The education department declared holidays to the kindergarten students in Bengaluru Rural District and Bengaluru Urban District.
The announcement was made by Minister Dr. K Sudhakar after a 40-year old passenger, a software engineer who arrived from America tested positive for Corona Virus.
A circular issued by the government added that the move was prompted by the World Health Organisation (WHO) declaring Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) due to the virus scare.
The circular also directed the schools to conduct examinations for the students of grade 1 to 5 between 11 March to 16 March while also directing the school authorities to wind up examination of grade 6 – 9 before March 23.
The circular further added that students showing any symptoms linked to Corona Virus including mild fever, to be reported to the health authorities for immediate adequate treatment, tests and checkup.
However, the time table for SSLC board examination has not been altered.

Mangaluru: Bajpe police arrests young man for alleged derogatory posts against police
Bajpe: Police have arrested a youth for allegedly posting derogatory and defamatory content against the Bajpe police on social media.
The arrested accused has been identified as Abhishek M. (23), a resident of Katipalla, Surathkal.
According to the police, Abhishek posted a photograph of Bajpe Nisarga Hotel on his Instagram account mr_a_titude_22, alleging that accused persons in a murder case under the jurisdiction of the Bajpe police station were being treated “like royalty” by the police and were being served beef meals from the hotel every day. In his post, he further accused the police of colluding with criminals and misusing their authority, stating that public trust in the police was being betrayed.
Following which, the Bajpe police registered a case and arrested the accused.
Police records reveal that Abhishek is already facing multiple criminal cases. A case of murder, attempt to murder, assault and robbery has been registered against him at the Surathkal police station. At the same time, a robbery case has also been registered at the Kaup police station.
After his arrest, Abhishek was handed over to the custody of the CEN police for further investigation. He was later produced before a court, police said.
