Kasargod: Two people were killed in a road mishap here on Thursday evening when a jeep driver lost his control over the wheels and the vehicle overturned at Chattamchal in Kariccheri here.
The deceased have been identified as Sharadha (68) and her son Sudhir (42).
Sudhir’s seven-year old son Niranjan and relative Suresh were rushed to Mangaluru hospital as both of them sustained severe injuries in the accident. Driver Ranjeeth (28), Chandrika (33), Shivraj (15), Vismaya (13) and Sunita were admitted at Kasargod hospital.
The accident took place when the driver lost control over the vehicle. The jeep was reportedly returning after attending a wedding ceremony when the accident took place.
A case has been registered at Vidyasagar police station.

New Delhi (PTI): At least 10 flights were cancelled and more than 270 flights were delayed at the Delhi airport due to fog and low visibility conditions on Tuesday.
An official said 6 arrivals and 4 departures have been cancelled for the day.

Over 270 flights have been delayed and the average delay time for departures is 29 minutes, as per information available on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com.
"Visibility at the airport is improving; however, flight departures for certain destinations may experience delay," Delhi airport operator DIAL said in a post on X.
The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the national capital handles around 1,300 flight movements daily.
