Kundapur: Man arrested for trying to sell drugs; Ganja, Brown Sugar, cash seized
Kundapur: Local police on Thursday night arrested one person for reportedly trying to sell Ganja near the Shastri Park locality in the city.
The arrested person has been identified as Jafar Gundumiya (28), a resident of Karwar.
The accused was reportedly moving suspiciously near the Shastri circle when Kundapur Dy.SP Srikanth stopped him and questioned. Upon checking, Ganja was recovered from him.

The cops soon detained Jafar and seized 1.8 kg Ganja worth Rs. 40,000, Brown Sugar worth Rs. 10,000, two mobile phones, Rs. 1500 in cash from the accused.
A case in this regard has been registered at Kundapur Police Station.

Unidentified men set fire to TVK campaign office near Srirangam
Tiruchirapalli (PTI): A campaign office of the actor Vijay-led TVK was allegedly torched by unidentified miscreants in Kamanayakkanpalayam village near Srirangam in the early hours of Friday, police said.
According to the police, the damage is minimal. Fire had engulfed the thatched roof providing shade at the entrance of the building that served as the party’s election office for the Srirangam constituency.
While on social media, a CCTV footage of two unidentified men fleeing on motorbike is being circulated as the culprits, police said the video footage is yet to be verified.
Based on a complaint lodged by TVK, the Pettaivaithalai Police have registered a case and initiated a search for the perpetrators.
