Udupi, Jan 11: Bengaluru Whitefield DCP Abdul Ahad Puthige said that for the first time, IPS officer Madhukar Shetty entered into the Legislators Home in Bengaluru and arrested a corrupt MLA.

He was speaking at a programme organized to pay respect to senior IPS officer late Madhukar Shetty, by Udupi district Muslim Okkoota at Ammanni Ramanna Shetty Auditorium here on Friday.  He said that Madhukar Shetty played a major role in punishing those who were involved in Bellari illegal mining. The life of Madhukar Shetty itself was a message to the youth. The onus of continuing his message was on people now.

“We could pay our respect just by working against the corruption and helping the oppressed classes and raising voice in favour of the truth and justice. Madhukar Shetty had clear vision on checking corruption. He believed that corruption could not be checked just by arresting the clerks or constables. Instead, one has to find out the root cause of corruption. If he was given just two more years time and support, he would have completely controlled the corrupt activities in the state ”, Ahad Puthige opined.
