LPG Tanker topples in Bhatkal; One injured
Passenger tempo plying behind the tanker rammed into it after the incident
Bhatkal: A LPG Tanker which was on its way towards Karwar from Mangaluru toppled on NH 66 near Sarpankatte of Bhatkal on Friday (February 1) early morning.
According to the reports, as soon as the tanker toppled, a passenger tempo which was plying behind the tanker , rammed into the tanker. This has resulted in the tempo driver sustaining severe leg injuries including multiple fractures. The driver of the tanker escaped with minor injuries.
The incident took place at about 6.30 am on Friday. Bhatkal fire brigade team, taking note of the incident rushed to the spot and sealed the area before confirming that there was no leakage of the LPG.
The tanker however was not lifted from the road till 2.30 pm on Friday due to the unavailability of crane.
Police and Fire brigade personnel remained on the spot waiting for the crane.

Trump says suspect was armed with multiple weapons at WH correspondents' dinner
Washington (PTI): President Donald Trump is addressing reporters at the White House after he and other top leaders of the United States were evacuated from an annual dinner of White House correspondents on Saturday night after a shooting incident outside the ballroom.
Trump said the suspect was armed with multiple weapons before stopped by Secret Service. One officer was shot, but he was protected by a bulletproof vest.
“He was shot from very close distance with a very powerful gun, and the vest did the job,” Trump said.
