Bantwal, May.8: Foremost leader of Karnataka Sunni Madarasa movement, senior scholar Ismail Musliyar,popularly known as Nekkiladi Ustad passed away on Tuesday, May 8 at his residence in Arabanagudde in Ramalkatte. He was 68.
He is survived by three sons, four daughters, relatives and friends. Recently, Nekkiladi was suffering from health ailments.
A resident of Arabanagudde in Ramalkatte Nekkiladi Ustad has served as Chief inspector of Sunni education board. He had rendered his service to Nekkiladi Umarul farooq Jumma masjid for nine years.
Nekkiladi was an excellent orator and had created Islamic education revolution in the society with his various movements including Madarasa movement.
He was famous for preaching religious texts in beary language. He had also headed many organisations like Sunni Jam’iyatul Mu’allimin, SEDC and others.
His mortal remaining was burried at Valavur Jumma masjid premise. Religious scholars have condoled the death of Nekkiladi Ustad.

Latur (PTI): A minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by an 18-year-old man in Latur, leading to the arrest of the main accused and owners of two cafes where the crime occurred on December 4, police said on Saturday.
Police traced the girl within hours of registering the complaint. The accused, identified as Rihan Gulab Shaikh, was arrested based on the girl's complaint. Two others are owners of two cafes where the crime occurred, police said.
Police registered a case under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), POCSO Act, and the Prevention of Atrocities Act, an official said.
