Mangaluru: After a purported photo of ASI of Sampya Police Station Narayana Gowda, went viral claiming that he had attended the camp of RSS, the officer has clarified that the person in picture was not him.
A photo went viral on Tuesday showing three people posing beside each other in RSS uniform and a lathi in hand. The claim with the photo added that one of the person in the picture was Narayana Gowda.
Speaking to ‘VarthaBharathi’, Narayana Gowda said, “I have been serving in the Sampya station for the past 6 years. Apart from being involved in activities of the police department, I have not participated in activities of any organization. Some mischief-maker who does not like me may have created this. The Circle Inspector and Sub-Inspector from our department contacted me last night and brought this to my attention and asked me for clarification regarding this image. I have clarified that it wasn’t me. Somebody who does not like me may have done this”, he said.
When he was asked if he would file a complaint regarding this, he said “I have clarified my senior officers about this. I will take further action according to their direction”, he said

Srinagar (PTI): Property worth Rs 1 crore belonging to a notorious drug peddler was on Saturday attached in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar, police said.
A double-storey house on eight marlas of land situated at Wantpora Eidgah, belonging to Basit Bilal Dar, a notorious drug peddler, valued at approximately Rs 1 crore, a police spokesperson said.
He said Dar is involved in two cases registered under various sections of the NDPS Act.
During investigation, it was established that the accused had acquired the said property through illicit proceeds generated from drug trafficking activities, the spokesperson said.
Consequently, the property was attached under the provisions of the NDPS Act. The attachment proceedings were conducted in the presence of the two independent witnesses, strictly in accordance with the prescribed legal procedures, he said.
As per the attachment order, the owner has been restrained from selling, leasing, transferring, altering, or creating any third-party interest in the property till further orders, the spokesperson added.
