Mangaluru: 21-year-old youngster arrested for raping girl after she rejected his marriage proposal
Mangaluru: In an incident reported from Bajpe in the city, a 21-year-old youngster was on Friday arrested for allegedly raping a girl after the latter refused her proposal for the wedding.
The arrested accused has been identified as Abubaker Siddique (21).
According to the reports, Siddique and the victim were classmates. On this pretext, the accused had reportedly clicked a picture with the victim. He later blackmailed the victim to upload their picture on Facebook if she refuses to marry him.
According to the police, on December 8, when the victim was returning home from work, the accused allegedly broke into her house and raped her.
A case in this regard was registered and subsequently, the accused was arrested. Further investigation into the matter is underway.

ACP arrested in Mumbai for obscene act in front of nine-year-old girl; sent to judicial custody
Mumbai: An assistant commissioner of police was arrested by Worli Police in Central Mumbai under charge of flashing his private parts before a nine-year-old girl.
The arrested officer is reportedly under judicial custody, at present, according to a report by The Times of India.
The incident occurred in a garden on April 23, a police officer has said, adding that they arrested the ACP soon after the complaint was filed. So far, only one party has filed a complaint against the senior officer, the source has informed.
The senior officer has been charged with molestation and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the police officer said.
Further investigation of the case is underway.
