Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan took preventive action on Sunday to curb the spread of a fever affecting cattle by issuing an order that prohibits the transportation of cattle between Kerala and Dakshina Kannada district.
The neighboring state of Kerala has reported cases of a specific fever in cattle, and the virus causing this disease has shown rapid transmission to healthy cattle. Given the seriousness of the disease and its potential fatality for the cattle population, the Deputy Commissioner ordered a temporary ban on cattle transportation until further notice.
This precautionary measure aims to contain the spread of the fever and protect the cattle in the Dakshina Kannada district from any potential outbreak.
