Mangaluru: Parliamentary secretary to the Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy, I’van D’Souza on Wednesday sought action against Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel for violating Election Code of Conduct. He was referring to a tweet posted by the MP on March 11.
In the tweet the MP had urged the voters to vote for those who attack terrorist at 3.am and not to those who knock the doors of Supreme Court at 3. am to save the terrorists.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday D’Souza added “The election code of conduct was implemented on Sunday evening. But MP Nalin Kumar tweeted on Monday morning which clearly violated the code of conduct”.
“Moreover, he sought votes riding upon the courage and bravery of soldiers. Election Commission had asked not to do so. They should take action against him now” D’Souza demanded.
“The security of this country and the army are now limited to BJP nor they are the stakeholders of it. The army belongs to everyone and their action represents the whole country not just BJP” he added.
He further added that Congress will sweep the coastal belt in upcoming Lok Sabha elections and its candidates will win in all three coastal constituencies of Karnataka (Dakshina Kannada, Udupi/Chikmagalur and Uttara Kannada).
MLC and DCC President Harish Kumar, former MLA Shakuntala Shetty, DCC Vice President Ibrahim Kodijal, Dhananjay Adhangayya, Sulya Block Congress President Jayaprakash Rai, KPCC Secretary Savitha Ramesh, KPCC Member Yashoda and Nazir Bajal were present at the press conference.
