Mangaluru: In a recent incident, a case has been registered by the Cyber Station police based on a complaint filed by an individual who claimed to have been cheated of Rs 3.41 lakh by an unknown person online.
The complainant stated that the stranger approached him on his Instagram account, offering a part-time job posing as a crypto account manager. The person promised to double his money if he invested in the company.
Trusting the offer, the victim fell into the trap and transferred Rs 3.14 lakh to the fraudster's account in multiple transactions. However, after the money was transferred, the scammer disappeared, and the victim realized that he had been deceived.

Bengaluru (PTI): A passenger who arrived from Bangkok was apprehended at Kempegowda International Airport on Tuesday with hydroponic ganja valued at Rs 1.28 crore, officials said.
The accused, whose identity was not disclosed, was arrested under the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act, 1985, they added.
“We intercepted a passenger arriving from Bangkok and seized 3.66 kg of hydroponic ganja, valued at Rs 1.28 crore, concealed in checked-in baggage,” Bengaluru Customs said in a post on X.
Further investigation is underway.
