Mangaluru, October 11: Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan showed his humane gesture by giving away Rs 1 lakh each to four youths who rescued around 200 people at Jodupala in Kodagu district during natural disaster, to take their families to pilgrimage.

A 16-member team had rescued around 200 people, risking their lives, during the natural disaster in Kodagu district. Among 16 members, the Minister had promised financial assistance to 12 Muslim youths to take up Umrah pilgrimage when he had visited Madikeri recently. Today, the Minister gave away Rs 1 lakh cash to each of the four members- Bipin Kallugundi, Manohar Kalive, Vijay Nidinje and Dinesh Kallugundi- during the foundation laying programme of the Karnataka Legal  Metrology department’s ‘Mapana Bhavan’ at Karnataka Housing Board building at Kudupu here on Thursday, to take their families to temples.

Speaking on the occasion, Zameer said that they were from middle class families and risked their life to save the people. Though they are Bajrang Dal members, he has not done any discrimination, he said.

MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Mayor Bhaskar Moily, Wakf Board President Kanachur Monu, Rotary President Jayakumar and others were present on the occasion.

New Delhi (PTI): The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday announced results for Class 10 board exams, officials said.

"The results have been declared," a senior board official said.

The CBSE started with two editions of board exams for Class 10 from this year. It was mandatory for students to appear in the first edition, the results of which have been declared.
