Mangaluru: City Police Commissionerate on Wednesday organised “Saluting the Warriors” event to pay tribute to the health workers, doctors, ASHA workers and other hospital staffs. The event was organised at Wenlock Super Specialty Block.

Led by Mangaluru Police Commissioner, Dr. PS Harsha, the police personnel gave guard of honor to Doctors, Hospital Staff, ASHA workers and other health workers.

The guard of honor was provided using 25 police vehicles and while maintaining social distancing.

Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Sindhu B Rupesh, Zilla Panchayath CEO Selvamani, DHO Dr. Ramachandra Bayari, Superintendent of Police Laxmiprasad, Wenlock Supervisor Dr. Sadashiv, MCC Commissioner Shanadi Ajith Kumar, DCP Arunangshu Giri and others were present during the event.

Sakleshpur: In a tragic incident reported from the taluk, a 28-year-old man who was on the way to his pre-wedding shoot died as his car rammed into a roadside tree.

The deceased groom, identified as Manu LN, was a resident of Darbarpet in Lakkunda village, Belur taluk, and was to get married on May 10.

Manu was traveling in his car to get his bride for the shoot when he lost control over the car near Moogali of Sakleshpur taluk and the vehicle hit a tree beside the road.

Manu is learned to have died on the spot due to the impact of the collision.
