Manipal: A car crashed into the pump house of the Udupi Municipal Council on the roadside of Parkala Eshwara Nagar around 1 AM today. Fortunately, a staff member sleeping inside at the time managed to escape unharmed.

The vehicle was traveling from Manipal to Parkala when the driver lost control on the slope, resulting in significant damage to both the car and the pump house.

Concerns have been raised about the lack of safety measures at the site, as there is no safety fence or signboard warning of the old road ahead.

Although recent repairs addressed a pothole, it has reopened. Locals have pointed out that this negligence by authorities has contributed to multiple accidents on this stretch of road in recent days.
