Manipal: A half decayed body of a girl was found on Sunday evening at the Sagri of Shivalli Village here, the police said.

The body has been identified to be that of the daughter of a migrant labor hailing of Badami. The girl reportedly went missing on March 9, from a garment shop where she was working.

Manipal Police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to hospital for post mortem. Some parts of the body were in decayed state while a mark of shaft was also noted on her neck. Hence the police is suspecting this case to be that of murder.

Udupi SP Nisha James, Addl. SP Kumarachandra, Dy.SP Jayashankar and Sampath Kumar reached the spot.

The SP later formed four teams led by Addl. SP to investigate the case.

The police is also investigating if the girl was raped before being killed.

Belthangady: Khazi Shaikhuna Thwaka Ahmed Musliyar of Dakshina Kannada District handed over the keys of a renovated house to the family of the late Ramalan Azhari during a program organized by the Dakshina Kannada District Janiyyatul Muallimin on Thursday at Kajur Perdadi Ajmer Khaja Juma Masjid.

The event was presided over by District Janiyyatul Muallimeen President Shansuddin Darimi Pammale Madannur, with Secretary Muhammad Navi Mundole welcoming the attendees. Engineer Muhammad Twahir Bangerakatte was honored on the occasion for his commendable efforts in renovating the house.
