Mangaluru: “All masjid jamaths should join hands for a drive against drugs in cooperation with police department. All masjids should have a youth centre which should help in engaging youth in sports and other constructive activities” Syed Mohammed Beary said in his concluding address at a conference organised for members of Masjids.
In a bid to create awareness about the challenges faced by Muslim Community, Bearys Knowledge Campus on Saturday organised an workshop themed “Role of Jamaths in educational awareness in Muslim community ” for the Presidents, Secretaries and Khateebs of various Masjids from in and around Dakshina Kannada District at Bearys Institute of Technology.
The event began with the keynote address from Syed Mohammed Beary, Chairman, Bearys Group. In his address he stressed upon the proper and pious upbringing of a child and giving them the right environment at the right age. He also noted that lack of emotional intelligence in the newer generation is leading them into the traps of drug addiction and other illegal and illicit activities.
“It is important that we ensure quality and trust in whatever we do” Syed Beary noted.
Director BIT Polytechnic, Dr. Aziz Musthafa, spoke about current issues and challenges faced by the students community. He pressed upon the need of preparing the students for future technologies which can result in better employability.
Renowned motivational speaker Dr. Abdul Rahiman addressed the event on ‘Character Building and Interpersonal Relationship’. He pointed a peaceful society is built on the principle ‘Respect for Elders and Sympathy for Poor’, “We need to work on this when we want to build a peaceful society” he said.
Dr. Mustafa Bastikodi, Head of the Department of Computer Science at BIT, in his address remarked that parents, teachers and the Jamath in which a child is brought up plays the most important role in bringing up the child and his growth.
Members from more than 110 Masjids participated in the event. An interactive session was also organised towards the end of the event.
Earlier, BIT Principal, Dr. S I Manjur Basha welcomed the gathering. The event concluded with the presidential remarks of Syed Mohammed Beary. B.A.Mohammed Ali compered the workshop.

Bengaluru: A new 55-bed palliative care centre for terminally ill patients, named the Nemmadi Centre for Palliative Care, will be inaugurated near Nelamangala on Sunday. The facility will offer all services completely free of cost.
According to a report published by Deccan Herald on Saturday, the centre has been set up by the Sukruthi Charitable Trust in collaboration with Rotary Bangalore Midtown. Around Rs 20 crore has been invested in the project, which will operate without a billing counter, ensuring that families do not have to pay for treatment.

The centre will provide comprehensive palliative care, including medical support, counselling for patients and their families, and bereavement care. The facility aims to help families cope with the physical and emotional challenges of caring for terminally ill patients.
“A cornerstone of the project was the generous donation of land by former MLC E Krishnappa, which made the centre possible,” DH quoted Palani Loganathan as saying.
The inauguration ceremony will be attended by Madhusudan Sai, founder of the Sri Madhusudan Sai Global Humanitarian Mission, Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao and Rajya Sabha MP Dr C.N. Manjunath who also serves as the chief medical advisor to the centre will also be present, along with several senior government officials and healthcare leaders.
