Mangaluru, August 09: INTUC leader Punith Shetty alleged that the supporters of youth Congress district president Mithun Rai have attacked him during a programme conducted by the district Congress.

Today, the Congress organized Quit India commemorative programme at Town Hall. During the programme, Mithun Rai supporters have attacked him in front of the stage and snatched his chain, he alleged.

“Mithun Rai’s followers have attacked me. Being the president of the Indian National Trade Union Congress, I have been involved in social service. Around ten days ago, Mithun Rai had lodged a complaint against me. Avinash, Girish Alva and others have behaved like goondas. They have snatched my chain. Mithun Rai is facing three cases. But he is given a gun man for security”, Shetty said.
