Udupi: Udupi Town Police have taken suo motu action against an individual from Shivamogga for posting a provocative message on social media concerning the tragic incident of a woman and her three children being brutally murdered in Nejaru.
The accused, identified as Hafiz Mohammed, made a comment on his Facebook page, suggesting that the residents of Nejaru missed an opportunity to kill Praveen Chowgale without preparation.
The police filed a case against Hafiz Mohammed, alleging that his message was posted with the intention of inciting people from various communities to engage in conflict, thereby disturbing social harmony. The comment, seen as potentially aggravating tensions, led to the police taking action to prevent any untoward incidents resulting from such provocative messages.
The incident in Nejaru, where a woman and her three children were brutally murdered, has already caused shock and grief in the community. The authorities are now monitoring social media activities to prevent the spread of potentially inflammatory content and maintain peace in the region.

Hazaribag (PTI): Bodies of two young women and a man were found in Pauta forest in Jharkhand's Hazaribag district on Monday, police said.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Hazaribag headquarters, Amit Kumar Anand told PTI that after investigation, the bodies were identified as Mohammed Adil (25), a native of Katkamdag, Shania Perven (19) of Lohsingha and Khushi Perven (21) of Hazaribag Mufassil.
"All the deceased were cousins, and their bodies have been sent for post-mortem at Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital," the police officer said.
The SDPO said that they were investigating the cause of the death and would wait for the post-mortem report.
A missing complaint was lodged about them on April 23, the officer added.
