Belthangady, May 22: Chief minister designate H D Kumaraswamy on Tuesday said that no decision has been taken regarding the cabinet formation and the media reports in this regard are baseless.

Speaking to reporters after visiting Dharmasthala temple Kumaraswamy said that he will leave to Sringeri from here and later return to Bengaluru. He will hold meeting with new MLAs and then only a decision on cabinet formation will be taken. He also stated that the media reports regarding this  baseless.

Our aim is to give give a complete five years governance. I have discussed about this congress president Rahul Gandhi, he said.

On a question related to Yettinahole project HDK said that strict action will be taken if any wrong doings found in the implementation of the project.

He further stated that he wants to take the people into confidence before launching any project that would harm the nature.

Both congress and JDS had included many pro people projects in its manifesto. We will try to implement these projects without burdening the people through taxes he said.

Kumaraswamy urged the people of Dakshina Kannada to stay away from conflicts. He said that he will be along with the people during their times of happiness and sorrow.  He stressed that young generation to stay away from this kind of trivial conflicts.

Kumaraswamy and his wife visited Dharmasthala Manjunatha temple and offered special puja. They then visited the residence of Doctor D Veerendra Hegde and sought his blessings.

ISLAMABAD: At least two more cases of poliovirus were reported in Pakistan, taking the number of infections to 52 so far this year, a report said on Friday.

“The Regional Reference Laboratory for Polio Eradication at the National Institute of Health has confirmed the detection of two more wild poliovirus type 1 (WPV1) cases in Pakistan," an official statement said.

The fresh infections — a boy and a girl — were reported from the Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.

“Genetic sequencing of the samples collected from the children is underway," the statement read. Dera Ismail Khan, one of the seven polio-endemic districts of southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, has reported five polio cases so far this year.

Of the 52 cases in the country this year, 24 are from Balochistan, 13 from Sindh, 13 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and one each from Punjab and Islamabad.

There is no cure for polio. Only multiple doses of the oral polio vaccine and completion of the routine vaccination schedule for all children under the age of five can keep them protected.
