Udupi, September 9: Former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde said that the organizations should work for the welfare of the poor in the community.

Inaugurating a one-day World Bunts Get-together-2018, organized by the Federation of World Bunts Associations and District Bunts Associations at the Ammanni Ramanna Shetty auditorium here on Sunday, Justice Hegde said that unity was important in the society. The organization should work for the welfare of the poor in the community. He was ready to join hands together. “I feel proud to say that I am also a Bunt. All three Supreme Court judges from the district were bunts. The commitment and consistency of the bunts in reaching their objectives have placed them in great heights in different fields”, he said.

Because of the Land Reforms Act, the community has suffered a lot. But overcoming all such hurdles, the community has gained a name in the society because of its hard work and determination. Because of a great vision and hard work, Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty and others have built the Vijaya Bank. But the community has a number of poor people and they should be helped. He was ready to join hands for the purpose, he said.
